A question for you and a Rihanna song!

OK. I have a big question for you guys. There was a video that I saw on Youtube where they were talking about how important the internet is to their lives. And then I took a look at my life and thought about what I basically do every day. And I saw how important the internet is to me. It is very, very, very important to me. If it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't have met you guys on dA. And I am definitely grateful for that because you guys have been the best of friends. And if you don't believe that, check out my latest deviation. I owe a lot to the internet. I basically find songs and good young musicians due to the internet. If it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't be able to put my poetry for exposure like this. And I wouldn't get to see other talented artists everyday and enjoy their work. I absolutely love your guys' works. I'm always amazed. It's because of the internet that I am not dead or dying. Because it gave me all of you guys. So the internet is very beneficial to me.

Anyway, that is just my opinion. But now I want to ask you guys. How important do you think the internet is to you and why? I would really like to read your answers.

RIHANNA'S NEW SONG! [link]

Sorry for the all caps. The link is a new song by Rihanna and is pretty crazy. It is completely unlike the old Rihanna. And now she has hit a bit of the dark side, to be honest. The song is titled "Russian Roulette". And it is becoming very large in a short amount of time. The song was released to the public two days ago and has now become one of the biggest songs of the week, predicted to be a top ten song very soon. The song will have a video within a week. It's predicted to be a very controversial video.

At the end of the song, there is a gunshot that is heard on the track, which many are saying may mean suicide. I am just saying what I have read and heard. Many people are interpreting this as a "song for suicide". It's a very large song right now, taking over the internet. Check it out for yourself. Tell me what you think of the song.

Well to put an interesting spin on it, we've had power outages for 6h at a time the past 2 days. Life without power SUCKS! As far as internet goes, when it's off I miss it like hell. Mainly due to my DA/webcomic addictions and online chatting, but I've only had it for 3yrs now so I could learn to get along without it again. It is invaluable if I'm looking for some info quickly (like a shops phone number).

The internet changed my life in both good and bad ways. Mostly good though. My last journal sort of touches on this question. If for no other reason I am glad to be on the net because dA and all the wonderful people like you that I've gotten to know, and the works to be found on here. I don't view dA as just a site, but a community, and if not for the net I wouldn't be a part of it.

That song...the Russian Roulette...right away your know it's about death of some kind..that stupid game really exists...no one should write a song about it, terrible. Anyway...the song sounded more to me like the guy wanted her to die than she wanted to die, so the suicide thing is...not supported.

Anyway, Ty...the internet...I can't say what I would like to.

I think I care too much, and I'm older...so I see things differently than you do. Not that your last dev wasn't wonderful and touching and lovely..it was and I still am thinking about it.

I find it important to an extent. It helps me connect with my family, I met my husband online. I connect with most of my friends here too.. It's a meeting of the minds. But the real world is just as important to me. You can't spend all your time online after all.
